Happy Halloween!

And a wonderful Samhain Eve. Here in WNC, it's a wonderfully spooky day, with gray skies and a strong south wind blowing leaves everywhere. Perfect for tricker-treaters. The pumpkin art works above are absolutely incredible! These are the finalists in the This Old House pumpkin carving contest, and to my mind  they ALL are winners. Just amazing, and now I'm embarrassed about my own crude jack-o-lantern messes! Oh well. We can still enjoy the attempt, not to mention freshly roasted pumpkin seeds with a little olive oil and sea salt! Yum. And one of the most nutritious foods you can eat, just like the rest of the pumpkin.
