"Why are we not calling this Fascism"?

(Well, some of us are!)

Anna, as you said, some of us are.

As you know, Hedges answered most truthfully when it was posed as a rhetorical question by Hartmann. The corporatocracy, that is, the "corporate-state", has the means and ability to whitewash and sanitize its image whenever the occasion requires it. After all, the media we all depend upon to unbiasedly characterize and report what's happening in the nation and around the world -- don't! Their own corporate leverage, and reaching tentacles into the halls of power, leaves us without a "free press" and without a voice that's not muted. Joseph Goebbels, who headed Nazi Germany's Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda, would have been proud.

The only way, for now, to receive truthful and "non-omitted" news, is to follow it through foreign and independent channels, like RT, or through reliable blogs and other web sources. That's all we have. Unfortunately, the majority of Americans still depend upon the morning or evening corporate news filters (choose your medium) for their daily dose of omissions or outright lies.

They don't have to fool all of the people all of the time -- just a sufficient number.
