Thoughts for Dia de los Muertos

Groundhog Day and the Climate of Fear: Instead of presenting and discussing the solution, fear traps us within a macabre realm of being able only to suffer the consequences of fossil fuel pollution over and over again, like the Groundhog Day movie plot.

The difference between Groundhog Day and our current suffering of environmental catastrophes is that after each repeated catastrophe we are worse off because of the damage, thus, soon enough we will not be able to repair the damage because of the crippling costs that we will have to bear.

Recipe for Disaster: Preheat environment to global heating specifications. Take a bitterly split America. Smear with layers of rich, premium, Citizens United (TM) dough. Add an overabundance of cracked, mixed nuts (right side only). Beat incessantly for 3.9 years, or until population is completely frothy.

Next, fold in sprayable, fully buttered-up and money-sweetened manure. Turn heat up under mixture via lack of media controls. Poke at constantly with sharp stick until entire mass is boiling and seething. Using no intelligent guidance whatsoever, serve with seasonal sides: Delusional Greed Cakes (Republicans), Repetitive Dismay Bars (Independents and Greens), and Wishful Thinking Cookies (Democrats)

Why They Don't Care if Romney Lies: Americans would rather have a brazen liar like Ronald Reagan offering them "feel-good" platitudes about "America standing tall" than the bitter medicine of truth from the likes of a Jimmy Carter telling us that we needed to tighten our belts, live within our means, and become energy self-sufficient.

It explains why magic acts and sleight of hand always amaze. It's why Siegfried & Roy was the most visited show in Vegas. I suppose people love to be duped.

By the way, great recipe -- although deadly. Not fit for human consumption, or any other living creature...
