This is what I was afraid of. Since The Hunger Games was filmed here, in Transylvania County (in one of my favorite hiking spots), people are apparently mobbing these areas now because of the film. Go away, people, GO AWAY! And for Gawd's sake don't move here! Since there are no jobs here, you will likely end up *hungry*. Besides, all you people are gonna scare away the vampires!

Hmm...a movie about a post-apocalyptic world -- coming soon to a town near you. A "training film", perhaps?

It sounds like you're about to experience all the nuisances and frustrations of a "pre"-apocalyptic world, also. Hang in there!

Check this out:

Like the article points out, the novel 1984 turned out to be prophetic; this movie, based on a trilogy, may be also. Some elements are definitely familiar now.

p.s. I still don't need swarms at my favorite hiking haunts!

I don't think it'll be apocalyptic. One thing this administration and the previous one should get credit for is the way they're going about skipping over the "apocalypse" without all the physical fanfare.

No major violence, just gnashing of teeth, wringing of hands, sighing of what could have been, then back to business as usual watching Survivor, American Whatever, hauling their precocious brats to ballet and soccer practice and spring and summer lawn parties in the 'hood' with your accomplice neighbors and being told via the Corporate Controlled State Media what to do, believe and how to act.

Laws are already in place to make sure the black boots stave off any possible threat to upset the 1% and THEIR cotillions, croquet and polo matches in their gated, protected fiefdoms. And in case they miss one, the neue braune Hemden will be there to inform.

No, no apocalypse. Just the disillusionment of many of us and daily continuations as life(?) goes on for 300 million others.

As for them, hey, if it didn't bother their tiny view of the country and world, c'est la vie!

Suppression of voice; forced religion; increased ignorance especially in science; new slavery; world wide poverty; death to billions!

Welcome to:
"Dark Ages - The Sequel!"

Hier ist für die nächsten tausend Jahre!
